An Antibacterial Alternative: CleanWell

With the news about the growing list of dangers associated with Triclosan, I have been quite critical of Bath and Body Works recently. Between hiding toxins in their products and refusing to stop using Triclosan in their products, particularly those marketed toward young girls, the company has been getting a bit of a bad reputation in the green community. The good news is all the debate prompted me to me to finally take the pledge to stop using antibacterial products. This has posed a difficult type of challenge for me, as I’m frequently out and about with my son without access to soap and water!

Fortunately, there are alternatives to antimicrobial products that are safe and effective at disinfecting hands and surfaces when you don’t have access to a sink. I tried out the new To-go line from Cleanwell featuring a surface disinfectant spray and wipes. These are perfect for those times you take the kids out to eat and are presented with a high-chair that looks like a science experiment. Or you need to change the baby in a public restroom that is less than sparkling clean. They also offer naturally effective hand sanitizer and soaps. Cleanwell products contain thyme, a natural essential oil that has been used for centuries.  It may not come in flavors like “lemon sugar fizz” or “secret wonderland”, but their herbal smell is subtle and fresh. Their products are made in America, biodegradable and certified cruelty-free by PETA. Use the coupon code “CWsuper” to get 15% off of your order at the CleanWell Shop online.
