The response to my first installment of the Best of Etsy was awesome, with a record making number of readers hoping to win a custom Albino Dino. Our Mister Dinosaur continues to accompany us on all our travels, most recently to the beach. I’m just as excited to introduce you to my second handmade artist, Kristen Solecki.
The Artwork of Kristen Solecki shop on Etsy features sweet ink, paint and printmaking pieces. A local Philly artist, Kristen graduated from the University of the Arts and currently works as a freelance artist. You can find her prints, original paintings, note cards and decor on her Etsy shop, in local stores and at arts and craft fairs. A block of cheery row houses, an intense roaring lion, a delicate red tree. Her lovely work is bold and colorful and is inspired by her own experiences. A committed supporter of local artists of all varieties, Kristen “believes in maintaining the beauty and uniqueness that comes with handmade art.” I couldn’t agree more, so I was thrilled to receive two of her gorgeous prints and note cards.
“Red Tree” is now adorning our living room wall, adding a pop of rich color with an soothing Autumn feel. Check out more of her beautiful artwork, then enter to win a print of your own “Yellow Houses”, inspired by Kristen’s love of old architecture she saw in local homes in a Philadelphia neighborhood. Kristen’s work is unique and affordable, and would make a great gift for anyone who appreciates art. Her animal prints in particular would be adorable in a nursery or children’s room.
My new tree print is a wonderful addition to our small but growing art collection! We have also received prints as gifts over the years, including a handmade canvas painting of a rabbit my artist friend Krystal painted for my son’s nursery before he was born.
You can win a “Yellow Houses” print from The Artwork of Kristen Solecki by entering through the Rafflecopter form below. Start by letting us know about either a piece of art that you have received as a gift or who you would love to give this print to!

Etsy is my version of Pinterest I think! I spend hours there… and more money! Ha!

I love the whimsey in your drawing. It is a fine line for an artist to create whimsey that doesn’t look too childish, but I think you have accomplished it. I was never able to, my drawings looked like a complete amateur even though I am an art teacher…..go figure????
Thanks, Deb

A few years back, my best friend gave me a print of a tree, she made in college. I still have it framed and hanging in my house.

Beautiful work, Kristen!
This would be the perfect gift for my best friend. We love sharing art.
I would actually keep it so my children could see it.
To be honest, the only artwork I’ve ever received as a gift was from my school-aged daughter. Of course, I love it more than any professionally done pieces I’ve ever seen
But, I’d definitely keep this print for myself!
Wood East African sculpture from my daughter.
My brother gave me an oil painting done by a Jamaican artist, Zion, about 20 years ago. I love that painting because it is so bright and cheerful, featuring oversized roosters and a Jamaican village. The yellow houses print would be awesome in our living room. I am trying to add to our art collection.

I’m lucky enough to have two grandparents that are painters so most of my artwork is gifted from them. A recent fav is a floral arrangement my grandma painted for my daughter. She loves it!

One of my favorite pieces of art I’ve received was from a friend of mine who’s an artist. She’s a a painter. She was always down about her art and never let me buy any from her. I left for college and her and I lost touch. A couple years later I came home to find a package on my porch. It was from my friend…she sent it as a way to reconnect.

I have never received a painting as a gift, but I would like to!
If I win this lovely work of art, I will keep it for my family, it would look great in our Great Room!
I would definitely have to keep this for myself. I don’t think I have ever received artwork as a gift.
My stepfather has made me a Japanese style drawing and a painting of a landscape with the Northern Lights. I love both of them.
I think I’d give this to my sister-in-law and her husband to remind them of their house in Jersey City. Thanks!
I’m torn between the owl and the octopus! They are both so amazing!
I would give this to myself! Beautiful pieces of artwork!

My grandmother gave me these two French village prints that were totally not my style, but because they were from her I kept them and put them up on my wall anyway. As for these prints, I’d probably keep it for myself lol I love the style and I think it would actually match the other two prints I have.
i would love to win for myself.
I love her pieces! So great! I have a mild obsession for owls. I’m stopping by from FTLOB comment love day
Happy Sunday!
Her artwork truly is incredible!
