Many conscious consumers took a pledge to buy gifts made in USA for the Holidays. I am thrilled that the “Made in America” movement continues to gain momentum and remain optimistic in my belief that conscious consumers have the power to create positive change. The driving force behind my blog are my readers. The best thing about blogging has been the comments and exchange of ideas my writing has sparked. This Holiday season brought the dialogue to new heights and the feedback I receive helps feed my passion for promoting locally made goods. I recently asked my followers on Facebook and Twitter to share the American made Holiday gifts they gave and received. Check out some of the reported finds, and share some of your own!

Sabrina N. gave a wooden sign made by Old Glory Soldiers, a military family business.
Good Girl Gone Green‘s lucky little one got 3 “Green Toys”!

SNOA lingerie found by Liz G., @newstruthliz.
Christina A. bought her daughter a Vermont Teddy Bear.

Carolyn sent out Lenin Tree Christmas cards.
Melinda of Melindesign gave a pair of Agloves.

My Mom gave the whole family socks from Cabot’s Tough Stuff socks!

‘What American made gifts did you give or receive over the Holidays?

This is SUCH a great list!! I think it is so very important to buy locally and if you happen to have to buy from an international vendor make sure you are buying from a country that has ethics that align with yours and pay a good, fair wage. Thanks so much for bringing keeping this important issue going!
There are lots of great products, especially handicrafts, made globally. I look for the Fair Trade certification to ensure the product was produced ethically without exploiting workers or the environment.

Love it! I do as close to 100% American made as possible! Nice to see others are doing the same!
Way to go! I gave my son Benjamin REI socks and a Bison Co. belt.
All the best,
John Briggs
I gave my family “Made in Michigan” gift bags. Everything was bought from a DIY craft fair: jelly, a soy candle in a tin, lovely soap and a jar of my own homemade pickle. I picked out the scents and flavors to go with each person’s tastes.
