I am pleased to have Jacqueline from The Organic Blonde and Nurtured Beauty guest post today. She is my go-to resource for anything relating to living an organic lifestyle. From a philosophy that “organic living is much more than using products marked as organic or eco-friendly…beauty means tending to the mind, body and soul”, her blogs provide a wealth of knowledge for the conscious consumer. Today she presents a list of her made in USA beauty finds. Check out her recommendations, and then learn more at The Organic Blonde.
With so many phenomenal organic skincare and beauty lines on the market today we have become spoiled for choice. They come from all over the world, however, in the past several years, there have been a few really stellar lines that have knocked my socks off that are made right here in the United States and many of these lines outshine their European counterparts. This list is by no means, an exhaustive one. These lines have products for just about everyone and are some of the staples in my own regimen.
Tata Harper is first on my list and one of my favorite staples in my own beauty regimen. Created by Tata Harper, a Colombian born beauty guru, in Vermont, much of the organic or wildcrafted active botanicals are grown on her Vermont farm. Her Rejuvenating Serum and Replenishing Nutrient Complex are powerhouses that make permanent positive changes in the skin and are my favorites in her line. Her aromatherapy complexes are not to be missed.
One Love Organics creator Suzanne LeRoux is my hero having created a waterless line of products that is 100% organic plant based and preservative free. Her line is clutter free, multi-tasking and super effective. With only six products in her line (including her incredible shammy that buffs skin to perfection) it is so easy to fall in love with her line. I cannot live without her Skin Savior beauty balm as a cleanser but also as one of the best primers for mineral makeup ever. It is a moisturizer and cuticle cream too, a cracked heel saver, and eye cream.
John Masters Organics is a true hair care guru. 20 years ago he saw the need for products using only natural ingredients. His shampoos are second to none for any type of hair and with products like Shine On which is one of the best leave in conditioners for shine and softness you too will soon be a convert to natural hair care.

RMS Beauty is both a skin care and makeup line and my “stranded on a desert island” product. The products, created by world renowned makeup artist Rose- Marie swift, are made of raw minerals, cold pressed and ultra-pure coconut and jojoba oils, coconut and shea butter, and a host of other highly active ingredients that are luxurious treatments in addition to mere makeup. Their Living Luminizer is one product I don’t live without. Even on days when I am not wearing makeup, I use this pearlized wonder to light any shadows under my eyes. I use her Raw Coconut Cream as a makeup remover, moisturizer, and even on my husband. It is fantastic for cradle cap too.
Intelligent Nutrients founder, Horst Rechelbacher is the genius that brought us Aveda. Thank goodness he didn’t stop when he sold the line to Estee Lauder. His line is not only super effective but all of his products are made of 100% food grade, pure and non-toxic. His Lip Delivery Antioxidant Gloss is a lip treatment and gloss in one and something every woman should have in her handbag. It is free of any of the toxic chemicals present in many of the conventional lip glosses on the market and is good for you containing his Antioxidant Intellimune® Seed Oil Complex which helps battle oxidative stress and fight premature aging. The Total Body Cleanser is something the whole family uses, including as a shampoo for the dogs.
What are you favorite beauty products? Do you know where they are made, or what ingredients they contain? How do you decide if a product is safe or eco-friendly?

I am so pleased to be asked to guest post! I agree totally buying US made products is so important to helping the economy, the family budget and even keeping products no longer needed out of landfills as they tend to be much more quality oriented thus much more easily donated or just used much longer.
Keep up the good work helping people understand why they should focus on buying American made and even more, LOCALLY, within your own community.

I’m so thrilled to find your blog. I have been trying so hard to buy things produced her in the US and it isn’t easy! My sister lives near a big outlet center. We took a day for shopping and I her to not buy things made over in Ch——–. We came home practically empty handed and very discouraged. I absolutely want my cosmetics and food to come from the US, at the very least. Keep up the good work. I just subscribed.
The above post should say that I “challenged her” not to buy…

Oh, these brands sound so exquisite to try them out. I just wish they weren’t so expensive. So I often try something that’s more in my budget. But I do recycle
